Bistupur Police Apprehend Fraudster Manoj Chaurasia in Goa
The Bistupur police’s arrest of Manoj Chaurasia in Goa marks a significant development in a case of fraud involving substantial financial loss.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a major law enforcement success, Bistupur police apprehended 30-year-old Manoj Chaurasia, a notorious fraudster, in Goa.
Chaurasia, a resident of Jaipur, Rajasthan, was arrested in a hotel under the jurisdiction of the Panji police station after an extensive operation.
His arrest is linked to a fraud case filed by Raman Meet Singh Jolly, alias Vishal Singh, an official of National Electronics in Sakchi, Bistupur.
The complaint against Chaurasia, filed in January, revealed his fraudulent dealings, where he swindled National Electronics of Rs 8,71,612.
Chaurasia had allegedly agreed to supply six iPhones to the electronics store but absconded after receiving payment without delivering the products.
Despite evading capture for months and frequently changing residences, the police were persistent in their search.
The turning point in the case came on December 16 when police, acting on undisclosed information, located and arrested Chaurasia in Goa.
Following his arrest, Chaurasia has been sent to judicial custody, facing charges of fraud and awaiting legal proceedings.
This arrest underscores the determination and efficiency of the Bistupur police in bringing criminals to justice.
