District Officials Ensure Safety and Facilities for Chhath Puja Devotees
Jamshedpur officials inspect Chhath Ghats for safety and facilities, ensuring a smooth and secure festival experience.
JAMSHEDPUR – With the auspicious Chhath Puja festival approaching, a thorough inspection of various Chhath Ghats in the urban area was conducted by District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Shri Manjunath Bhajantri and Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Kishore Kaushal.
The officials focused on the cleanliness of Ghats, availability of changing rooms, marking of danger zones, electrification, and repair of access roads.
This inspection also covered necessary guidelines for parking, traffic arrangements, and maintaining law and order.
Joined by Deputy Development Commissioner Mr. Manish Kumar, SDM Dhalbhum Mr. Piyush Sinha, and other key officials, the team visited prominent Ghats including Swarnarekha Ghat and Surya Mandir Ghat Sidhgora.
They assessed the ongoing preparations and directed measures to secure the Ghats while restoring all necessary facilities.
Special attention was paid to ensure no inconvenience to devotees, with instructions for timely cleaning, arrangement of changing rooms for women, and barricading of danger zones.
Officials were directed to tag sailors and divers at all Ghats and install drop gates at crowded areas.
Timely repair of access roads leading to the Ghats was emphasized for easy devotee access.
Coordination among municipal bodies, police, traffic, electricity, and disaster management departments was stressed to complete all preparatory work on time.
Adequate lighting and arrangements for smooth traffic and parking were also prioritized.
Shri Kaushal outlined comprehensive security measures, including the prohibition of heavy vehicles during key rituals and possible route diversions.
The presence of uniformed and plainclothes policemen will ensure the safety of the large number of devotees expected.
These thorough preparations by the district officials aim to provide a safe, orderly, and devout environment for the Chhath Puja celebrations, honoring one of the region’s most significant festivals.
