Jamshedpur – XITE College Gamharia marked the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week with a day-long celebration on its campus.
The event, organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of XITE College, aimed to promote vigilance and ethical values among the faculty, staff and students.
The celebration, coordinated by Dr. Sanchita Ghosh Choudhary, Associate Professor and IQAC Coordinator, commenced with an assembly where all attendees, including faculty, staff and students, took a solemn pledge to uphold and practice vigilance in their daily lives.

Fr. Dr. E. A. Francis, Principal of XITE College, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of vigilance in curbing corruption and fostering ethical values in society.
The day also witnessed a Slogan Writing Competition in both English and Hindi. Eshika Mishra of BA English secured the first position in the English category, while Manoj Marandi, also from BA English, claimed the second spot. In the Hindi Slogan Writing competition, Shruti Purty from BBA stood first, and Khokan Chandra Mahato, also from BBA, secured the second position.
A highlight of the event was a thought-provoking talk show with the theme “Say NO to Corruption, Commit to the Nation.” Colonel Vinay Ahuja, Commanding Officer of 37 Jharkhand Battalion, NCC Jamshedpur, graced the event as the Chief Guest and speaker.
Colonel Ahuja enlightened the audience on the significance of vigilance, the Prevention of Corruption Act, the Government e-Marketplace (GEM), and the Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers (PIDPI) scheme, among other critical aspects.
The celebration was not just a day of reflection but a collective step towards promoting vigilance awareness and contributing to the development of a just, prosperous and corruption-free society.
