Tata Steel’s Nov 26 Joda Run-a-thon Promises Fitness and Green Future, Registrations Open

First-Ever Joda Run-a-thon with Prize Pool of ₹5.67L; Tata Steel to Plant Sapling for Each Runner

Tata Steel’s inaugural Run-a-thon at Joda, Odisha, aims to engage 4000 participants for a greener tomorrow with a prize pool of ₹5.67L. Event scheduled for November 26.

Jamshedpur – Tata Steel, known for promoting wellness and sports across its operational areas, is taking another giant stride by organizing its first-ever Run-a-thon in Joda, Odisha.

Slated for November 26, the sports event boasts a prize pool of ₹5.67 lakh and promises to attract around 4000 participants.

The theme of the run, ‘Run for a Greener Tomorrow,’ aims to harmonize the idea of fitness with environmental consciousness. For every participant, the company has pledged to plant a sapling, reinforcing its commitment to nature.

An association with the Odisha Athletic Association promises to lend a professional touch to the event, which will include runs in three categories: 10 KM, 7 KM, and a 5 KM run specifically designed for youth under 16.

This initiative furthers Tata Steel’s long-standing involvement in sports, which spans over a century and includes the creation of academies for various sports disciplines such as football, archery, athletics, and more.

On the occasion of the event’s announcement, key representatives from Tata Steel’s Ores Mines & Quarries (OMQ) department and Tata Steel Sports Department were present to brief the media.

The final date for registering for this much-anticipated event is November 15, and participants can sign up either online or through offline kiosks available across schools, colleges, and villages in the Joda region.

Additionally, other runs at locations such as Meramandali and Ranchi are also on the calendar for this year, with announcements expected soon.
