Governor, CM Pay Homage to Two Martyred Jharkhand Jaguar Jawans

Two jawans of Jharkhand Jaguar were killed in a Naxalite attack; incident occurred in West Singhbhum district. Governor, Chief Minister paid homage.

RANCHI -Two jawans of Jharkhand Jaguar were martyred in an encounter with Maoists at Tonto in West Singhbhum district.

The mortal remains of police sub-inspector Amit Tiwari and constable Gautam Kumar reached Ranchi, where Governor CP Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister, and other officials paid their respects.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed sorrow over the incident, bowing down to the courage and bravery of the martyrs.

The Naxalite attack was planned on the soldiers of the E-company of Tumbahaka CRPF-7 battalion in the Naxal-affected Kolhan Reserve Forest area.

The incident occurred on Monday evening around 7 pm and was confirmed by DIG Ajay Linda and Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar.

The attack came as the security forces were preparing food, leading to a sudden encounter where two soldiers lost their lives.

A new CRPF camp has been established in the Naxal-affected area, with the Jharkhand Jaguar camp nearby.

Martyr Jawan Amit Tiwari, who was to be discharged after August 15th, leaves behind a daughter and a son born just five days ago.
