GHATSHILA – A tragic road accident occurred near Manikabeda village under Dhalbhumgarh police station on Monday. A motorcycle lost control and collided with the divider on NH-18, leaving a woman rider fatally injured.

Local residents immediately rushed the injured woman to Dhalbhumgarh Primary Health Center. Due to her critical condition, doctors referred her to Ghatsila Subdivisional Hospital. Upon examination, Dr. Meera Murmu declared the woman dead.

The deceased was identified as Ambawati Bera, a resident of Khandamouda village in the Badasol police station area. Her son, Brihaspati Bera, who was riding the bike, stated that they were traveling to Ghatsila when he lost control, causing the accident.

The woman’s body will be handed over to her family after a postmortem examination, as per the medical authorities.

The accident has cast a shadow of grief over the region, with many expressing condolences to the bereaved family. Police have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident.
