JAMSHEDPUR – Elson Jose Dias Junior, or Elsinho as he is more commonly known, has officially become a part of Jamshedpur FC on a one-year deal.

The talented Brazilian footballer, who made his mark playing with Mexican club FC Juarez and Spanish club Racing Ferrol in La Liga 2, is set to lend his skills to the Indian Super League (ISL) team in the 2023-24 season.

At FC Juarez, Elsinho made 136 appearances and scored 10 goals. His stint with Racing Ferrol saw him making 25 appearances with 4 goals to his name.

The versatile player, who can handle both central defence and defensive midfield, is set to bring a new dimension to Jamshedpur FC’s organisational structure.

The 32-year-old expressed his enthusiasm for this new venture, stating that he saw this as an excellent opportunity for his career growth and was excited to play in front of Jamshedpur supporters.

Elsinho hails from the Brazilian city of Uberaba and spent much of his early football career playing in Brazil’s lower divisions before making his debut for Sao Paulo-based Oeste FC.

He gained recognition as a reliable and versatile player during his time with FC Juarez.

Scott Cooper, the head coach of Jamshedpur FC, described Elsinho as a defensive midfielder and centre defender with a good height. He also mentioned Elsinho’s agility, technical skill, and threat from set pieces as key attributes that would add significant value to the team.

Elsinho will sport the number 91 jersey in the upcoming season, as confirmed by the club.
