Jharkhand Jantantrik Mahasabha Calls for Change in Employment Policy
East Singhbhum district committee meeting of JJM demands Khatian-based 1932 Employment Policy in Jharkhand
JAMSHEDPUR – A meeting of the Jharkhand Jantantrik Mahasabha’s East Singhbhum district committee was held today in Sakchi, Jamshedpur.
Chaired by the District President, Sunil Hambaram, the session covered an array of issues.
Foremost was the opposition to the BJP-led central government’s policies.
Also discussed were the controversial land acquisitions for various local projects.
Dr. Virendra Kumar, a member of the Central Working Committee of the Mahasabha, expressed his discontent with the existing laws.
He rallied the Mahasabha workers to prepare for a significant resistance against the policies.
Deepak Ranjit, another committee member, urged for a revision of the Employment Policy 1932 to be Khatian-based in Jharkhand.
Ajit Tirkey, a member of the Mahasabha, called for swift Class IV and III job appointments based on the 1932 domicile policy.
Krishna Lohar, also from the Mahasabha, voiced strong opposition to land acquisitions in Manpita and Khairbani.
Somnath Padaiya announced the launch of a mass movement against "loot and repression" in Kolhan.
