Heroic Railway Head Constable Awarded for Life-Saving Act in Bokaro

Heroic act of Subhas Kumar, a Railway Protection Force constable, recognised by South Eastern Railway.

JAMSHEDPUR – Subhas Kumar, a Head Constable from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Bokaro, was awarded and publicly acknowledged for his quick-thinking and brave act on Tuesday.

He saved the life of a female passenger who almost fell into the gap between the train and platform while trying to board the 12366 Ranchi-Patna Jan Shatabdi Express on July 12th, 2023.

Kumar was applauded for his alertness and dedication to his duties.

The life-saving event took place at Bokaro Steel City Railway Station while he was performing his regular duties.

Anil Kumar Mishra, the General Manager of the South Eastern Railway, commended Kumar’s action and presented him with a cash reward and commendation certificate.

Also present at the felicitation ceremony was Sanjay Kumar Mishra, the IG-cum-Principal Chief Security Commissioner of the South Eastern Railway.

The act of bravery has set a positive example for other staff in the railway sector.
