Head of Jan Satyagraha petitions Tata Steel USIL for park creation and water logging resolution in Burmines area.
JAMSHEDPUR – The head of social organization Jan Satyagraha, Manjit Kumar Mishra, has made an appeal to the management of Tata Steel USIL to establish a park in Tatanagar Foundry and East Plant Basti in Burmines.
This request comes as part of his continuous efforts to bring a cleaner and healthier environment to these localities which exist within the Tata lease area.
Disappointingly, these areas currently lack any parks, denying the local residents the benefits of green spaces, the letter said.
In addition to his demand for a park, Mishra has also called for the construction of a walking path-way in the area, providing an additional space for the community to engage with nature.
Furthermore, the persistent issue of water logging at the Burmines Tube Company Golchakkar has been highlighted in his letter, with a plea for the necessary measures to be taken for its resolution.
Despite earlier letters of demand sent on July 4, 2022, and September 19, 2022, the situation remains unaddressed, with no significant actions taken to date, he said.
