Jamshedpur DDC Leads Monthly Supply Review Meeting

Deputy Development Commissioner of East Singhbhum in Jamshedpur conducts monthly review to improve supply and distribution systems in the district.

JAMSHEDPUR – A monthly review of supply and meeting of the District Supply Task Force was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Development Commissioner, East Singhbhum, Jamshedpur, on the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner.

The average monthly distribution status of the blocks was reported not to exceed 95 percent.

Concerns were raised about beneficiaries not availing food grains for over 12 months despite holding a ration card made for the Ayushman card.

The decision was taken to identify and delete such ration cards post-verification.

The need to prevent the sale of public distribution system food grains in the open market and the distribution of spoiled rice/wheat was emphasized.

Against a target of 104307 members for the green ration card, 64332 members have been registered, leaving room for an additional 39975 members.

The Deputy Development Commissioner directed for the immediate filling of these vacancies.

Under the postman scheme, the Deputy Development Commissioner ordered the timely home delivery of rations to all Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) families.

Mobile siding condition in the district was reported to be lower than the state average, and the goal was set to surpass 85 percent before the next supply meeting.

Inspecting Public Distribution System shops monthly was deemed essential, with marketing officers and block supply officers directed to inspect at least 10 shops each per month.

For the first half of fiscal year 2022-23, clothing items including dhotis, lungis, and sarees have been provided by suppliers in all blocks, pending sample checks before distribution.

The District Supply Officer mentioned a fund provision of Rs. 10,000 in all panchayats for emergency rice distribution to beneficiaries without ration cards, in order to prevent hunger-related deaths.

The registration of farmers under the paddy procurement scheme was discussed, with transparency and timeliness in payments emphasized.
