The situation in Munshi Mohalla of Makdampur in Parsudih, Jamshedpur, continues to worsen as houses are inundated with water, exposing the flaws in the local administrative system.

JAMSHEDPUR – In Parsudih’s Makdampur, Jamshedpur, the Munshi locality is seeing increasingly worsening conditions, particularly during the rainy season. The area gets entirely flooded, with drain water seeping into residents‘ homes and damaging their belongings. Over the past 18 days, the entire area has been waterlogged, causing severe disruptions to the residents’ daily lives.

Despite multiple visits and assurances from people’s representatives, including the Deputy Commissioner of the district, no solution has been found to alleviate the problem. The situation, far from improving, has been deteriorating daily. Kamlesh Srivastava, a local BJP leader, highlighted that the responsibility for maintaining the drainage system, located on railway land, rests with the railway management.

Despite the ongoing issue, no concrete action has been seen on the ground. The inhabitants of the region are now grappling with increasing health risks and disruption to their daily activities. In response to the crisis, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato has initiated plans to use two water motors to remove the water entering homes.
