Tribal Women Protest Against Gambling and Drug Activities in Mango, Demand Action

Tribal women under BJP leader Vikas Singh’s leadership stage a protest in Mango against gambling and illegal sale of narcotics, urging for stringent action.

JAMSHEDPUR – A demonstration took place at the Ulidih police station, led by tribal women from the area surrounding the now-defunct Mango Ulidih Middle School.

Under the guidance of BJP leader Vikas Singh, the women shared their distressing experiences of encountering open drug dealing, gambling, and the sale of illicit liquor on the school premises.

According to them, activities involve selling of Ganja, Heroine, Charas, Brown Sugar, Illegal Liquor and even Daily Lotteries.

The situation has escalated to such a point that women fear stepping out of their homes, due to the offensive behavior and verbal harassment from the criminals involved.

Concerns were also raised about the presence of young girls in the vicinity of these illicit activities after dark, further deepening the worries of the community.

While some arrests were made by local police, the suspects were released shortly after, a move that the women argue has emboldened the culprits.

The protesters voiced their diminishing faith in the administration and threatened to resort to self-defense measures if actions are not taken swiftly.

In response to their pleas, the local administration officials promised quick action and provided their contact numbers for immediate reporting of any illegal activity.

BJP leader Vikas Singh emphasized that the unlawful activities won’t be tolerated and pledged to escalate the matter to the district Superintendent of Police if necessary.
