Police Constable Shot Dead by Unidentified Criminals in Ramgarh

In a shocking incident, an off-duty police constable was ambushed and shot dead by unknown assailants at Bhurkunda’s Sayal 10 Number mine, in Ramgarh district, sparking a thorough investigation by local law enforcement.

RANCHI – In a chilling episode of crime, an off-duty police constable named Pankaj Kumar Das was shot dead by unidentified assailants last night at the Sayal 10 Number mine under the Bhurkunda police station area of Ramgarh district.

Pankaj, the son of Dheeraj Ram, was returning home on his bike, Apache Jh24j-2655, after his shift at the Urimari police station when the attack took place.

The assailants ambushed him while he was on his way to Patratu Sankul, taking his life with gunfire.

Upon receiving the information, SDPO Birendra Chaudhary, along with station in-charge Amit Kumar and a police team, arrived at the scene.

During the investigation, they recovered two used cartridges and took possession of the deceased’s body.

Notably, Pankaj Kumar had married only two months back.

Police are looking into all possible angles.
