JAMSHEDPUR – Youth members of the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) staged a protest at the office of the Deputy Labour Commissioner, expressing their outrage at the alleged ongoing exploitation of laborers by Bhardwaj Infracon Pvt.

The protest, led by Youth INTUC leader Rajeev Pandey, brought to light the conditions faced by approximately 150 contract workers employed by the company.

Allegedly, these workers have suffered from various forms of abuse and exploitation.

Pandey recounted that the owner of the contract company displayed an alarming level of disrespect towards the workers.

He said that besides verbal abuse and caste-based slurs, the owner reportedly confiscated the gate passes of some laborers.

As a form of protest, all 150 laborers stopped work and rallied at the Deputy Labour Commissioner’s office, demanding justice.

They reported that Bhardwaj Infracon Pvt. fails to provide them with their bonuses and various other facilities.

As a result, he charged, work has come to a standstill, with all laborers vowing to continue their strike until they receive the justice they seek.
