Minister Champai Soren Addresses Drinking Water and Electricity Issues in Adityapur

Tribal Welfare cum Transport Minister of Jharkhand, Champai Soren, reviewed various departmental activities in Adityapur, placing a focus on issues related to drinking water and electricity supply.

Adityapur – A critical review meeting was held in Adityapur, Jharkhand, chaired by the Tribal Welfare cum Transport Minister, Champai Soren.

The meeting took place at the Swarnrekha Bhawan Auditorium and included a thorough examination of progress on initiatives by the Adityapur Municipal Corporation, Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, and the Electricity Department.

Prominent attendees included DC Arva Rajkamal, DDC Praveen Kumar Gagrai, Additional Municipal Commissioner Girja Shankar Prasad, ADC Subodh Kumar, SDO Seraikela Ram Krishna Kumar, and the Minister’s Secretary Chanchal Goswami, along with officials from the various departments and working agencies.

During the review, Minister Soren prioritized the improvement of drinking water and electricity supply, urging the relevant divisional officer to expedite pending work related to water pipelines and service road restaurants.

Discussing rural electricity supply, the Minister pointed to a provision granting 100 units of free electricity to approximately 80,000 beneficiaries out of the total 98,000 electricity connections in the district.

He emphasized the importance of raising public awareness of this provision, the interest waiver scheme, and various electricity bill payment methods available in rural areas.

He expressed concern over high electricity bills causing undue stress among economically disadvantaged families who don’t use significant electrical appliances.

Minister Soren underscored the urgency of connecting every household to the water tap scheme in his review of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Division. He highlighted power cuts in Jaikan Panchayat and Rajnagar village, and drinking water issues in the Adityapur Municipal Corporation area, instructing prompt resolution of these matters.

He called on officers from the Electricity and Drinking Water Sanitation Divisions to quickly respond to villagers’ complaints, to aid effective problem-solving and meet the government’s objectives.
