Excise raids under Assistant Commissioner Product’s guidance seize illegal beer and foreign liquor from various locations in East Singhbhum.
JAMSHEDPUR – Acting on orders from the Assistant Commissioner Product, East Singhbhum, the Excise department and the police conducted raids on illegal liquor selling spots across several regions.
The operation targeted locations in Domjudi under Bahragora police station, Gopalpur and Maubhandar under Gamharia, and Pithapur under Ghatshila police station.
During these raids, the police confiscated various brands of beer that were authorized for sale in Odisha and West Bengal, but were being sold illegally in these locations.
In addition to beer, the officers also seized illegal foreign liquor.
The total volume of seized items included 31.2 liters of beer and 9.0 liters of foreign liquor. These illegal liquor vendors, who had been operating without the necessary permits and licenses, are now facing charges.
However, they have reportedly absconded, and efforts to locate and apprehend them are underway.
The officials made it clear that such raids would continue even in future.
