Huge Liquor Haul Seized in Jamshedpur Raid

Sitaramdera police recover foreign liquor worth Rs 27k during dry day enforcement

Police action targets illegal liquor sales in Oraon colony, despite sellers fleeing the scene.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant crackdown on illegal liquor sales in Jamshedpur, the Sitaramdera police station executed a successful raid in Oraon colony, seizing a substantial cache of foreign liquor valued at approximately Rs 27,000.

The operation was initiated following a tip-off that liquor was being sold in violation of the district-wide dry day declared by the administration in observance of Holi.

Despite the escape of the suspects prior to police arrival, the force managed to recover 132 bottles of various brands of foreign liquor, underscoring the scale of the illicit operation.

An FIR has been registered against Durga Sahu, Munna Sahu, and Raju Sahu, three brothers suspected of orchestrating the illegal sale of alcohol in the area.

The police’s swift response to the tip-off and subsequent raid highlight the ongoing efforts to curb illegal activities and enforce law and order within the community, especially during designated dry days.
