World Thalassemia Day: Anurag Foundation Hosts Program to Raise Awareness and Support Affected Children in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In recognition of World Thalassemia Day, Anurag Foundation organized an event in Jamshedpur at Sakchi’s Dhalbhum Club, bringing together doctors and social activists to discuss prevention strategies for the life-threatening disease.
The program featured children suffering from thalassemia and aimed to shed light on their daily struggles.
With IMA Secretary Dr. Saurabh Chaudhary as the chief guest, the event saw many dignitaries in attendance.
The organization distributed contribution amounts to children affected by thalassemia and provided information about the disease.
Dr. Chaudhary emphasized the importance of screening pregnant women to eradicate thalassemia at its roots, urging the government to take the initiative.
He highlighted the alarming fact that over one lakh patients in India are currently suffering from thalassemia.
Vijay Lakshmi Das, Chairman of Anurag Foundation, acknowledged the organization’s limited resources, which currently allow for the treatment of only 81 children.
She called on social organizations to come forward and support efforts to bring smiles to the faces of children suffering from the fatal disease.
