A missing auto driver from Ulidih area, Manoj Rai, was found dead with marks on body. Family members suspect murder. Police are investigating the case.
Jamshedpur: Autorickshaw driver Manoj Rai who had been missing from his Parasnagar residence under Ulidih OP, was found dead with several marks on his body suggesting that he had been beaten to death.
According to information, when Manoj Rai’s family members, on calling his cellphone, heard a woman at the other end replying that she ran a hooch distillery in Ulidih Basti and the owner of the mobile who had been there had left it and gone away.
Reportedly, someone called the police on 100 and reported a corpse being found.
The police took away the corpse for autopsy.
After coming to know of the matter, the family members of Manoj Rai reached the Postmortem House, identified the body and took it to MGMC Hospital.
It may be mentioned that Manoj’s body was riddled with several wound marks.
The family members said that they had information that Manoj had altercations with some persons. They demanded that the police take immediate steps to nab the unknown assailants and initiate strong action against them,
There were heated exchanges between the police and the deceased’s family members at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the police have stated that whether the death was due to murder or any other cause would come to light only after investigation.
