Even five days after the murder of land businessman Lalu Pradhan on May 19 in Jhar Govindpur under Gamharia police station of Seraikela district, the killers remain at large, prompting villagers to demand swift action from the authorities.

GAMHARIA – Five days after the brutal murder of land businessman Lalu Pradhan, the killers are still evading the police, despite being identified.

The incident occurred on the night of May 19 in Jhar Govindpur under the Gamharia police station of Seraikela district.

On the fifth day following the incident, villagers from Jhar Govindpur, along with the family members of the deceased, gathered at the Gamharia police station to plead for justice.

The villagers accused the police of adopting a lax attitude towards the investigation.

Balram Pradhan of Jhar Govindpur reported that Lalu Pradhan was murdered in his village on the night of May 19.

An FIR was registered the following day, but the accused murderers have yet to be arrested.

Frustrated with the lack of progress, villagers, including the deceased’s family members and his elderly mother, visited the police station seeking justice.

They were unable to meet the police station in-charge and expressed concern that even the FIR copy has not been provided to the complainant.

Vrindavan Pradhan, Lalu’s brother, stated that he witnessed the murder and identified Shashi Pradhan and Arvind Pradhan as the perpetrators.

Despite a written complaint, the suspects remain free.

The villagers are now contemplating further action to ensure the killers are brought to justice.

The police have yet to make any arrests, leaving the community anxious and demanding immediate action.
