Adityapur police arrest siblings Imdad Khan & A Parveen for brown sugar smuggling; intensify search for gang leader Mogla.

Adityapur: In a significant breakthrough, the Adityapur police have arrested a brother and sister duo involved in the sale and distribution of brown sugar.

The accused, identified as Imdad Khan alias Babu and his sister A Parveen, were taken into custody and sent to judicial remand.

The police are now intensifying their search for the leader of the smuggling gang, known as Mogla, who is believed to be a resident of Murshidabad in West Bengal.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Anand Prakash informed the media about the arrests during a press conference on Tuesday.

Imdad Khan, a history-sheeter criminal, was also an absconding accused in the Sabir murder case.

He had been hiding in a rented house in the Golmuri police station area of East Singhbhum district.

Following the imprisonment of Saddam in the Sabir murder case, A Parveen, who resided in Dhatkidih, Jamshedpur, began smuggling brown sugar with Mogla.

Imdad Khan, fearing arrest, moved to a rented house in Golmuri and, together with his sister A Parveen, started buying and selling brown sugar.

SP Anand Prakash revealed that on May 1, at around 8:00 pm, they received information about Imdad Khan’s whereabouts.

A team was formed to verify the information, and they arrested Khan, who was hiding in a rented house in Golmuri.

During interrogation, he confessed to selling brown sugar in Adityapur with Saddam Khan and later with his sister after Saddam’s imprisonment.

The police recovered brown sugar worth approximately four lakh rupees based on Khan’s confession.

SP Anand Prakash praised the achievement as significant for both the district police and Jharkhand police, announcing cash rewards for all the officers and personnel involved in the operation.
