Jeevan Addresses Increasing Suicide Rate in Jamshedpur, Calls for Community Support

Jeevan services are available daily from 10 am to 6 pm at their Bistupur office, with helpline numbers 9297777499 and 9297777500.

Jamshedpur – Dr. Mahavir Ram, founder of Jeevan, and Director Dr. Jivraj Jain have expressed deep concern over the alarming rise in suicide rates in Jamshedpur.

With 35 suicides reported in the first three months of 2023, the city is witnessing an average of one suicide every two days until April this year.

Dr. Ram emphasized the need for deep contemplation and preventive measures to address this growing issue, which is taking on epidemic proportions.

Jeevan held a discussion to identify the causes and potential remedies for the increasing suicide rates in the region.

Dr. Ram and Dr. Jain informed that Jeevan has been conducting regular workshops in schools, including during the COVID-19 pandemic.

They acknowledged the positive effects of these workshops but clarified that the four child suicides in the last three months were unrelated to stress or anxiety.

Dr. Jain urged people from all walks of life to come forward and provide cooperation in addressing the issue, considering it their social responsibility. Saving even one life would be commendable,” he said.

Dr. Ram added that their emotional support service is free and confidential, offering guaranteed relaxation and positivity to those in need.

Jeevan services are available daily from 10 am to 6 pm at their Bistupur office, with helpline numbers 9297777499 and 9297777500.

The organization encourages citizens to participate in their suicide prevention initiative and requests anyone noticing signs of mental disturbance in others to contact the organization Jeevan.

Jeevan addresses the rising suicide rate in Jamshedpur, calls for community support, and offers free emotional support services to those in need.
