Union Transport Minister unpacks infrastructure bonanza in Jharkhand, lays foundations of and inaugurates 10 road projects

Jamshedpur: The Union Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari unpacked a series of infrastructure projects in Jamshedpur on Thursday. He laid the foundations of the country’s first double decker elevated corridor in Jamshedpur that would entail an investment of Rs. 3800 cr. He also launched 9 other road projects in Jamshedpur.

In his address at Gopal Maidan, Nitin Gadkari said that there were several problems that the government had to face during the construction of NH 33 in Jharkhand that could fill a book.

The Double Decker Elevated Corridor and 10 road projects, which together cost more than Rs 3800 crore and are intended to provide convenience for residents of Jamshedpur and the surrounding areas, were officially launched and their foundation stone for each project was laid by Gadkari.

The Transport Minister flew into Sonari Airport from Delhi and was greeted with a guard of honor before being driven to the Circuit House amid tight security.

He had some rest there before heading to Bistupur’s Gopal Maidan.

The Transport Minister was cordially welcomed as he arrived at Gopal Maidan.

Together with other important visitors, he started the ceremony off by lighting a lamp.

He also used a button to announce and lay the foundation of 10 projects, including India’s first Double Decker Elevated Corridor.

The Former Chief Minister Raghubar Das, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, Singhbhum MP Geeta Koda, NHAI Technical Member Mahadev Singh, NHAI Chief General Manager SK Mishra, AS Kapoor, and Subarnarekha Project Chief Engineer AK Das were among those who were present on the occasion.

2 lakh crore to be invested on Jharkhand roads: Nitin Gadkari

In his address, the Union Transport Minister announced that the government will soon be building roads in Jharkhand worth more than two lakh crores.

According to the minister, Jharkhand would become an advanced state in India as a result. Jamshedpur is already a highly developed city, he said, and the country’s first double-decker elevated corridor, which would further Jharkhand’s growth, including Jamshedpur, will benefit it much more.

Development possible only through water, power, transport and communication

Citing the former US President John Fitzgerald Kennedy who famously remarked that America’s world-class roads are the reason the nation is wealthy, the transport minister said that development is possible only through roads.

According to the Minister, it is because of this conviction that the government is building roads around the nation.

He said that the development of roads in Jharkhand would boost the number of industries and provide job options. Jharkhand is crucial to the success of the nation.

The Minister stressed that access to water, power, transportation, and communication—all of which are available in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand—is necessary for growth.

Jamshedpur to get country’s first double decker elevated corridor

He said that Jamshedpur’s double decker elevated corridor, which will be the nation’s first of its type, would have a significant influence on both domestically and globally.

He stated that a 50-year long roadmap is being devised and implemented with the building of this project in response to the traffic problem in Jamshedpur.
