Youth beaten to death at Adityapur Shivnarayanpur, couple arrested

Adityapur: In a heart-rending incident reported from Adityapur, a person was allegedly caught trying to steal a battery from a parked tractor by the owner couple at Shivnarayanpur under the jurisdiction of Adityapur police station Saturday and was thrashed to death. The deceased has been identified as Lelko Gope.

This tragic incident occurred at Shivnarayanpur in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district and falls under the jurisdiction of Adityapur police station.

According to information received, Lelko Gope, a resident of Shivnarayanpur had previously served time in prison too for theft and he was allegedly apprehended by tractor owner P Tudu and his wife while attempting to steal a battery.

The couple then allegedly tied Lelko Gope to the tractor and beat him mercilessly till he was dead.

The incident was reported to the Adityapur police station on Saturday morning.

About 8:00 am, police came to the scene, arrested the couple accused of murder, and took custody of the victim’s body for postmortem.

The event has created quite a stir in the neighborhood.
