Who is responsible for India’s semifinal collapse?

Desk: India’s knock out curse is not over yet. Rohit Sharma’s team kept the streak of losing in the death match on for now.

India has to depart from the T20 World Cup after losing shamefully to England in the semi-finals. The question is why could India not win the big match (India vs England) when it mattered the most?

Why did Rohit Sharma & Co. have to leave after the knock out after playing in the super 12 stage of the World Cup?

The Indian captain has batted terribly in the entire World Cup. Apart from a half-century against a weak Netherlands, he did not get a run in any match.

Instead, Rohit’s failure with the bat meant that other batters were under pressure to score runs.

He scored only 27 runs from 28 balls in the semi-final.

Why Yuzvendra Chahal was not played on the spin-assisted wicket in the Adelaide field in the semi-final?

Arshdeep Singh, who has performed brilliantly throughout the tournament, was made to bowl just one over in the power play.

From team selection to making crucial match decisions – Rohit’s every move remains in question.

KL Rahul has been batting well since the Asia Cup. He goes down to open and runs at a slow pace. Rahul scores half-centuries against relatively weak Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. But when the team expects big runs from him in the crucial match, Rahul fails miserably at the right time. Even after this, there is room for discussion whether he can be kept in the team.

Rahul Dravid’s role is also in question.

Indian team management has made many mistakes in team selection. Not playing Rishabh Pant at the right time is also one glaring mistake that might have made some difference.

Rohit could not make a mark in either batting or bowling department.

The captain batted with a strike rate less than 100.

Even with Hardik Pandya-Virat Kohli, India could not score runs at a fast pace at all.

India had to set a target of at least 180 runs to face England’s power hitters in a ground like Adelaide. But due to the overall batting failure, India was stuck at only 168 runs.

At the time of the toss in the semi-final, Rohit made it clear that he had entered the field with the plan of batting first. So losing the toss is not a problem. But from the start of England’s batting, it was seen that Bhuvneshwar was bowling in a very random manner. While chasing the target of short runs, Rohit didn’t do the kind of aggressive fielding that was needed.

The situation on Thursday afternoon makes it clear that Pakistan has reached the final of the World Cup. And India were pushed out from the tournament with a shameful loss.
