CM reviews steps to curb Maoist activities

CM instruction to keep surrendered naxalites in open jail, not allow explosives to reach Naxalites

The CM Hemant Soren learned in detail about the activities of Naxalites in Khunti, Ranchi, Seraikela, Chaibasa, Kolhan, Parasnath, Budha Pahar and Budha Pahar coming in Inter State-Chhattisgarh and Chatra-Gaya-Palamu-Aurangabad Border- Bihar.

Ranchi: The CM today reviewed steps to curb Maoist and naxal activities in different districts of the state. He issued instructions to shift surrendered naxalites to open jail.

He asked as to why they are being kept in normal jail and not in open jail.

He said that if any changes are needed in the Open Jail manual, then that should be effected. He also asked the officials to facilitate the release of the surrendered Naxalites.

The Chief Minister directed to keep a close watch on the explosive materials received by the Naxalites. It needs to be fully mapped. Have complete knowledge of the explosives being used in mining. So that the explosives do not reach the Naxalites. Work to destroy the supply chain of Naxalites.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister was apprised that the construction work of 15 roads and 63 bridges is going on in the 19 militancy affected districts sanctioned by the Union Road Ministry. This work is 94 and 74 percent complete. Against 362.67 km, 340.92% work has been completed.

At the same time, 47 bridges have been constructed against the construction of 63 bridges. On this, the Chief Minister ordered to speed up the construction work in these areas.

Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajiv Arun Ekka, Director General of Police Neeraj Sinha, Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Secretary KK Son, Secretary Rural Development Department Manish Ranjan, IG Operation AV Homkar were present in the meeting.
