Jamshedpur: The Zonal IG Naveen Kumar is on a 3-day tour of Jamshedpur. During his visit he is taking account of and reviewing the crime containment data and figures of the district police.
On Sunday, while talking to the media the Zonal IG said that crime graph has come down in Jamshedpur in 2020 compared to 2019, but Covid-19 too may be a reason for this.
He said that the crimes are now being investigated in a scientific manner. He said that if needed, the police officers would be imparted training for adopting scientific methodology.
He said that the police officers would also be directed to have a better co-ordination between the police and general public.
Talking about naxal activities, he said that there has been a decline in the naxal activities. However, he said that some credit should go to the intelligence activities of the police.
Asked about the bomb explosion in an Ulidih house a day back, he said that a few persons have been identified in the case and their names would be revealed soon. He said that the police is also looking at it as a part of a gang war.
It may be added here, one youth has even died in the explosion.
He said that Jharkhand police would investigate crime by co-ordinating with other states. He said that the union government is forming an inter-state team for this to control cyber-crime activities.
The Zonal IG is likely to inspect different police stations of Jamshedpur.
