Rahargora locals open front against plastic factory, complain of pollution

Jamshedpur: A delegation of social outfit Crime Check Organisation, led by its district co-ordinator Rajesh Samant, met the management of Siddharth Company in Rahargora and asked it to resolve the issue of the foul smell emanating from the company causing problems for the residents nearby.

Rajesh Samant later said that the factory of Siddharth company is situated right in the middle of a residential bustee and there is a church adjoining it too. The company manufactures plastic bags.

He said that foul chemical smell emanates from the company and this is causing a lot of issues for the people living in the area.

He said that the fear is that the foul smell and pollution may cause disease in future. He said that a delegation had spoken to the company manager and the manager has assured that the situation would be rectified.

He said that if the issue of foul smell and pollution is not addressed by the company soon, then they would launch an agitation and would also bring the issue in the notice of the state environment department.
