Cyber fraud gang busted, 5 arrested

Mastermind still absconding, public might have been cheated of Rs. 90 lakh

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur police achieved a major success by arresting five persons accused of cyber crimes and cyber frauds from different police station areas of the city. According to the police, these accused of cyber crimes may have cheated the general public of around Rs. 90 lakh in only one month.

It may be added here that the state police have launched a special drive against the cyber criminals all over the state on the instructions of the DGP of Jharkhand.

Jamshedpur police too have launched a special drive against cyber crime in the city.

Under this drive, the police have arrested five cyber thugs from different police station areas of the city. These arrested accused have cheated different persons online and have transacted at least for Rs. 90 lakh.

All the five arrested today belong to the same gang, the police said. The mastermind of the gang is still out of the reach of the police. Police are looking for the mastermind too.

The city police feel that the arrest of these five cyber thugs would provide them some important leads into the method of cyber crimes.
