Registered wards demonstrate at TWU gate for extension in age limit for proposed recruitment

Jamshedpur: Tisco Nibandhit Majdoor Sangh (TNSS) held a demonstration at the Tata Workers’ Union gates on Monday demanding extension of age limit during the oncoming recruitment of wards.

Congress leader Munna Sharma was also present during the demonstration to support the TNSS members’ demands.

It may be added that the management of Tata Steel and Tata Workers’ Union have reached an agreement to recruit 500 registered wards. However, TNSS members said that the age limit of 42 does not suit them as the recruitments are taking place after a gap of 9 years and a large number of them have already crossed the age limit. TNSS is demanding that the age limit for recruitment be extended to at least 45 years.

TNSS delegation also met the president of Tata Workers’ Union, R Ravi Prasad. However, they alleged, they did not get a favourable response from TWU. So, they have intensified their agitation under the leadership of Mohan Pandey, president of TNSS.

Congress leader Munna Sharma also reached the TWU gate to support the demands and agitation of TNSS members. He supported the TNSS agitation and appealed to the company management to consider their demands with sympathy.

Munna Sharma also appealed to the union leaders to reconsider the demands of TNSS members. He assured the TNSS members that he will continue to help them.

Mohan Pandey said that in 2011, the maximum age limit was 44. However, this time, the age limit has been reduced to 42. He demanded that the age limit be extended as many of the TNSS members have already crossed the limit.
