JAMSHEDPUR – Lions Club of Jamshedpur Bharat celebrated Teachers’ Day by honoring women educators at its Sakchi office.

The program focused on promoting women’s empowerment. Ten female teachers received shawls, flower bouquets, gifts, and pens in recognition of their contribution.

Chief guest was district chairperson for women’s empowerment Lion Sarika Singh, while zone chairperson MJF Lion Bharat Singh attended as special guest. The event began with a cake-cutting ceremony.

Teachers including Sanju Kumari, Urmila Sharma, Sushmita Kumari, Pooja Sinha, Basanti Devi, and Sunita Kumari were among those felicitated. The occasion also marked the birthday of club president Lion Anjula Singh, adding to the celebration.

The honored teachers shared their experiences, stressing that lack of discipline among children is a growing concern. They said students need moral values and cultural grounding along with academics. They urged parents to guide children away from social media distractions and towards responsibility.

Sarika Singh said teachers impart not just knowledge but values, and their role in society is supreme. Bharat Singh added that one good teacher can shape an entire generation, making their contribution to nation-building invaluable.

Club president Anjula Singh expressed pride at felicitating educators on such a significant day, calling the event unforgettable as it coincided with her birthday.

Other members present included vice-president Manoj Soni, secretary Ayushman Singh, treasurer Saurabh Anand, Rajesh Singh, Jyoti Singh, Abhishek Srivastava, Sudhir Pandey, Karan Gorai, Rajesh Chawla, Rahul Singh, and Akash Rajak.
