JMM ahead in Dumka, Congress leads in Bermo

Shocker for BJP as ruling alliance about to bag both by-election seats

Ranchi: Kumar Jaimangal of Indian National Congress is ahead with a margin of 14,223 votes on Bermo seat, while Basant Soren of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is leading by a margin of 6,512 votes on Dumka seat.

On both Dumka and Bermo seats, the BJP candidates are trailing till 5.28 p.m. and although vote counting is not complete yet, indications are that both the seats would give a result against BJP and in favour of the ruling alliance.

Initially, when the vote counting started, the trends were in favour of NDA candidates as BJP’s Lois Marandi was leading in Dumka and Yogeshwar Mahto Batul was leading on Bermo seat.

However, as the counting progress, things started changing.

For now, Basant Soren is ahead on Dumka seat, while Kumar Jaimangal alias Anup Singh is ahead on Bermo seat.
