Constable found Covid-19 positive, Jamshedpur police in alert mode

Jamshedpur: After a police constable posted at Jamshedpur police line was found Covid-19 positive, the district police has gone into an alert mode.

The Golmuri Police Lines are being sanitised and all necessary steps are being taken to reduce the chances of infection.

The City SP today said that policemen on duty are the most vulnerable group of people in terms of Covid-19 infections.

He said that the police constable found positive had returned from leave.

He said that the constable’s contact history would be investigated.

He added that all necessary precautions are being taken at police centre. However, there is a need for everyone to be doubly cautious.

He advised policemen to comply with the instructions issued by the health department as well as the stage government.

The number of patients in Jamshedpur has been on the rise and five persons have already lost their lives to the disease.
