Saryu Roy demands probe into appointment of PwC as consultants to JSMDC
Jamshedpur: Saryu Roy, the ex-minister of Jharkhand, and an independent MLA from Jamshedpur East, has demanded a government probe into the appointment of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), a foreign audit firm, as the consultants to Jharkhand State Mineral Development Corporation (JSMDC) at a hefty fee of about Rs. 32 lakhs per month.
In a tweet to the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, Saryu Roy said that the appointment of PwC as consultants to the state mineral development corporation caused a loss to the exchequer of about Rs. 80 cr largely due to a ‘bad bid’ made for an unviable coal mine.
Mr. Roy has also demanded a probe into the role of Ernst & Young in Jharkhand Skill Development Scam. He alleged data forgery and fabrication of highest order for wrongful gain by scamsters at the behest of the ‘then power centre’.
