Jharkhand has 950 active cases, recovery rate 51.33 per cent

Ranchi: More than 6,89,000 people have arrived in Jharkhand. Out of these, 5,11,663 persons have been identified as migrant labourers.

The chief nodal officer for Corona related affairs, Mr. Amarendra Pratap Singh today said in a press conference at Project Bhavan that as a part of Vande Bharat Mission 390 persons have arrived from foreign countries. Out of these 234 persons have completed their quarantine period. 21 of these people have been found Corona positive.

He said that maximum number of people have arrived in from Bangladesh. On June 17, 76 persons will be brought to Jharkhand from Bangladesh via air route. 17 persons will be brought in from Bhutan via road. The DC of Pakur will co-ordinate their arrival.

Addressing the press conference, the secretary of the Disaster Management Department, Amitabh Kaushal said that 3,10,340 persons have been brought in via Special Shramik trains. On the other hand 1165 persons have been brought in via air route. He said that till date 3566 quarantine centres have been prepared and 25,170 persons have been quarantined at such centres in the state. Besides, 2,49,583 have been home quarantined.

The secretary of the health department Dr. Nitin Madan Kulkarni said that till date 1763 have been found Corona positive in the state. Out of these 905 have been cured and discharged. 8, excluding today’s one, have died. There are still 850 active cases in the state. He said that 116 containment zones have been created in the state.

He also said that no new case has bee reported form six districts of the state during the last seven days. The recovery rate in the state is 51.33 per cent. He appealed to everyone to continue following social distancing norms.
