185th Birth Anniversary of Jamsetji Tata Marked by Innovation and Community Welfare

Tata Steel pays tribute to Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, the ‘Father of Indian Industry’, on his 185th birth anniversary in Jamshedpur.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel commemorated its founder, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, on his 185th birth anniversary, emphasizing his vision of industrial progress intertwined with community welfare.

This year’s Founder’s Day, celebrated on March 3, carried the theme “Technology for people & planet”, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment to leveraging innovation for societal and environmental benefit.

The event saw notable participation from Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran, Tata Steel CEO & MD T V Narendran, alongside other dignitaries.

It commenced with a homage ceremony at the Works Main Gate, symbolizing the collective reverence for the founder’s legacy.

Chandrasekaran, in his address at Bistupur Postal Park, reiterated the company’s dedication to integrity, innovation, and social responsibility, principles instilled by Jamsetji Tata.

The celebrations included the inauguration of the exhibition at Steelennium Hall, showcasing technology-driven projects aligned with this year’s theme.

Technological Initiatives and Community Engagement

The Founder’s Day witnessed the launch of several initiatives, including i-MEC and i-CPROC, part of Tata Steel’s Integrated Remote Operation Centre, designed to enhance maintenance decision-making and operational efficiency.

These projects exemplify the company’s stride towards integrating technology in its operations for improved asset management and sustainability.

The celebrations extended across Tata Steel’s locations nationwide, underlining the company’s widespread impact and commitment to innovation and community development.

Founder’s Legacy and Sports Division Activities

The legacy of Jamsetji Tata was also celebrated through various activities organized by Tata Steel Sports Division at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, highlighting the founder’s holistic vision for community welfare that includes promoting sports and healthy lifestyles among the youth.

This multifaceted approach to commemorating Founder’s Day underscores Tata Steel’s dedication to nurturing both industrial growth and societal well-being, in line with its founder’s aspirations.
