Jamshedpur Police solve Bistupur jeweler and Ulidih Bank of India loot cases

3 arrested in Rs 33 lakh Ulidih Bank of India loot and 32 lakh Bistupur jewelry shop loot cases, 2 accused leave country

Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum district police achieved a major success Wednesday, when they succeeded in solving the two major loot cases of the city.

The police have arrested 3 accused, while 2 others have managed to flee the country with the looted booty. Efforts are on to arrest them too.

Wednesday proved to be a remarkable day for the district police, especially for the SSP Prabhat Kumar, as the city police team managed to crack two of the most sensational crimes that occurred in the recent times in Jamshedpur.

The SSP Prabhat Kumar told the media today that they have been able to solve the two loot cases and have unraveled the entire mystery centering around the loot cases.

The most egregious loot had occurred in Ulidih police station area, on August 18, 2022.

Rs. 33.5 lakh in cash and 2 kg of gold was looted by the criminals from the Ulidih Bank of India branch.

On the other hand, on February 14 last, Rs. 32 lakhs were looted from a jewelers shop in Bistupur.

Both these incidents were carried out by the members of the same gang.

City Police have arrested three people in both these cases.

These include the driver of a transport container.

Police from Bengal have also seized the container used in the BoI loot incident.

SSP Prabhat Kumar said that one of the accused involved in the incident had already been arrested and sent to jail.

So far 2 more members have been arrested.

The mastermind of the case is lodged in Beur Jail, Bihar.

Three criminals have left India with the amount looted in the incident.

Efforts are on to arrest him.

Efforts are also being made to recover the looted amount and gold.

The names of the accused who were arrested are Bhagwat Thakur and Khagendra Narayan Singh alias Sonu.

Both are residents of Bihar.

Police have recovered Rs 5950, one transport container, two mobiles and two bikes used in this loot case.

The SSP of the district said that three criminals involved in this crime are still absconding.

Two of the criminals have gone out of the country with the looted goods.

Efforts to arrest them are on.
