Railway Officials Inspect Tatanagar Station

Joint Inspection by SER and ER Zonal Members at Tatanagar Reveals Key Issues

Railway officials from South Eastern Railway and Eastern Railway conducted a thorough inspection at Tatanagar railway station, identifying several critical areas for improvement. The inspection led by ZRUCC member Arun Joshi and Eastern Railway’s zonal member Rakesh Mishra focused on passenger amenities, cleanliness, and vendor compliance.

JAMSHEDPUR – During the inspection at Tatanagar railway station, several key railway officials, including Station Master Raghuvansh, RPF Inspector Incharge SK Tiwari, Chief Health Inspector Jitendra Rai, and Shashi Kumar from the Commercial department, were in attendance.

They joined South Eastern Railway’s ZRUCC member Arun Joshi and Eastern Railway’s zonal member Rakesh Mishra in assessing the station’s current state.

The officials discovered a violation at Sudha’s shop on platforms 4 and 5, where Aamul products were sold.

A significant breach of food safety was uncovered at stalls 6 and 7, where expired food items were being sold to passengers.

Immediate action was taken against this violation, resulting in the closure of the offending shop and the imposition of a Rs 10,000 fine.

The team also scrutinized the cleanliness arrangements and general facilities available to passengers at Tatanagar railway station.

They gathered information on the pricing of various items at the station’s food stalls and counters.

An escalation issue was noted, with the escalator near the parcel office on platform one not yet operational.

Officials were questioned about the delay in starting this escalator.

Feedback from passengers highlighted the poor condition of the road near the Burma Mines Entrance Gate, causing significant difficulties during the rainy season due to waterlogging.

In response to the observed deficiencies, ZRUCC members instructed railway officials to take immediate corrective actions.
