Kumir Panchayat’s Mukhiya, Deepak Kumar Mudi, reports receiving a death threat in a letter allegedly from Maoists, police begin investigations.

JAMSHEDPUR – Deepak Kumar Mudi, the head of Kumir Panchayat of Patmada block, reported receiving a death threat through a letter, allegedly sent by Maoists on Wednesday morning.

The three-page letter, written in Bangla, contained not only abusive language but also death threats.

The letter was purportedly signed by a Maoist.

On Thursday, officials from the union, along with Zilla Parishad member Khagen Chandra Mahato, accompanied Deepak Kumar Mudi to Kamalpur police station, where a written complaint was filed.

Dhiranjan Kumar, the Station in-charge, after reviewing the incident, registered the case and initiated an investigation.

According to Dhiranjan Kumar, the threat appears to be the work of antisocial elements with the aim of instilling fear in the chief.

Mudi disclosed that he found the letter near the door of his shop-cum-house in Kankidih when he stepped out around 7 am on Wednesday.

Krishnapad Singh, the President of Mukhiya Sangh, has called upon the station in-charge to thoroughly investigate the incident and uncover the truth as soon as possible.
