JAMSHEDPUR — The Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha (JLKM) has announced a sit-in protest outside the Bodam police station on June 6. The organisation’s central organisation secretary, Vinod Swansi, has formally notified the Deputy Commissioner through a written letter.
According to JLKM, Lambodhar Hansda, a resident of Kutimakali village, was seriously injured in a road accident on May 23. However, the road accident victim’s family has not received any justice or compensation to date.
The organisation has put forward three key demands before the authorities. These include payment of adequate compensation to the victim’s family in Jamshedpur, action against those responsible and officials accused of negligence, and rehabilitation of the affected family.
Copies of the letter have been sent to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate and the Rural Superintendent of Police as well. The district administration is yet to respond publicly to the demands.
JLKM has been active in raising issues related to the rights of marginalised communities in East Singhbhum and other parts of Jharkhand. The protest has been planned as a public demonstration to press the administration for timely action in the case.
