  • SIT formed under DSP to locate all suspects

PAKUR – Pakur police completed a fast investigation into the Mali Pada orchard gang-rape case and arrested seven men after forming a special team.

Police received information on November 25 about an assault in a Pakur orchard. Officers reached the site quickly. However, they rescued the 35-year-old woman from the spot.
In addition, police caught one accused during the initial operation.

The woman’s statement led to case number 298/2025 at the Nagar police station. Moreover, an SIT was formed under DSP Ajay Aryan for further action.
The team then carried out raids in different locations to identify every suspect.

Officers later arrested Babudhan Hansda, Genu Hansda, Ram Bheettha Marandi, Francis Hansda, Kali Das Soren, Gada Manjhi and Babuji Hembram. All seven admitted involvement during questioning.
Meanwhile, the police recovered the woman’s phone and ATM card.

However, searches continued to track the remaining absconders. A police source said the team acted quickly and would ensure strict action against all involved.

Pakur has seen earlier criminal incidents, including mutual dispute violence and major theft cases.
In addition, police reshuffles and cattle seizures shaped district operations.
Besides, recent restrictions highlighted ongoing security challenges.
