JAMSHEDPUR – Akhil Bharatiya Tailik Sahu Mahasabha president Rakesh Sahu has accused former general secretary Manoj Gupta of embezzling community funds and illegally collecting money through a parallel organization.

Sahu submitted a demand letter to the district deputy commissioner. He alleged that Gupta became general secretary after 2020 elections. However, Gupta resigned within one and half years.

“No expenditure details were provided to Mahasabha during his tenure,” Sahu stated. Moreover, Gupta formed a separate organization after resignation. The president claimed illegal collection of lakhs from community members.

Sahu demanded action from the deputy commissioner against these alleged irregularities. He accused Gupta of wrongful money collection from society members. Furthermore, the president sought investigation into financial misconduct.

Former general secretary Manoj Gupta completely rejected these allegations. He stated that he was elected through proper elections. However, he resigned due to other officials’ wrong practices.

“I raised demands for maintaining income-expenditure records and timely audits,” Gupta explained. Other officials tried to suppress these transparency demands. Consequently, he submitted resignation within eighteen months.

Gupta revealed that he has filed departmental complaints against current Mahasabha activities. Investigation is currently underway regarding these complaints. Besides, he claimed officials are making false embezzlement charges due to panic.

“Current officials are panicking because of my complaint,” Gupta said. He maintained that allegations stem from his opposition to irregularities. Meanwhile, both parties have approached administration with counter-complaints.

The dispute has divided the community organization into opposing camps. Administrative investigation may determine the truth behind financial allegations. In addition, the case highlights internal conflicts within social organizations.
