Key Points:

  • District orders all schools shut on January 6-7 due to extreme cold wave
  • Teachers must report for administrative work during closure period
  • City records season’s lowest temperature at 3 degrees Celsius

RANCHI – The district administration has ordered closure of all schools for two days as temperatures plummet to dangerous levels.

The closure applies to all educational institutions. “Student safety remains our top priority during this harsh weather,” a senior district official stated.

Meanwhile, government school teachers and staff must continue attending. They will handle administrative tasks during regular hours.

Impact on Daily Life

The severe cold has disrupted normal activities across Ranchi. Residents face particularly harsh conditions before sunrise.

Moreover, dense fog has reduced visibility significantly. The fog typically clears only after mid-morning.

On the other hand, meteorological data shows cold wave conditions intensifying. Weather experts predict continued low temperatures.

Weather Conditions

Namkum area has recorded Jharkhand’s lowest temperature at 5 degrees Celsius. However, other parts of Ranchi also face bitter cold.

In addition, the Indian Meteorological Department forecasts continuing cold wave. Night temperatures may drop further this week.

The weather office has issued an orange alert. “We expect severe conditions to persist,” a meteorological official explained.

Regional Response

Other districts in Jharkhand are monitoring the situation closely. Several have issued advisories to residents.

Furthermore, local authorities have set up night shelters. These facilities will protect homeless people from extreme cold.

Meanwhile, health officials advise residents to take precautions. They recommend limiting outdoor activities during early morning hours.
