Saryu Roy Demands Public Access to Blocked Road in Kadma

In a direct initiative, MLA Saryu Roy inspected encroachments in Kadma, ensuring public rights.

Key Points:

  • Saryu Roy visited Tata Steel quarters in Kadma over public access issues.

  • Engaged with locals to address blocked road concerns.

  • Inspected alleged encroachment on public land in Purnima Bose area.

JAMSHEDPUR – Fulfilling his election promise, MLA Saryu Roy took swift action by addressing public grievances related to road access and land encroachment in Kadma.

The MLA visited the KD Flats area near Tata Steel quarters, where residents raised concerns. While some opposed opening a blocked pathway, others highlighted its significance as an old public route. Many claimed the closure caused significant inconvenience, particularly to those living in outlying houses.

Amit Singh, Tata Steel’s land department chief, joined the site visit and urged Roy for time to negotiate a resolution with the management. Roy, however, emphasized that public access must be restored without delay. "At the very least, a two-wheeler-friendly path should be provided," he reportedly insisted, calling the blockage of public routes unjustifiable.

Later, Roy inspected alleged encroachment near Anil Sur Path. The area, including a pond linked to Purnima Bose, had reportedly been walled off by a former minister’s brother. Roy directed that the encroachment be removed and the land made accessible for public use. He stressed the importance of equitable access for both the community and Purnima Bose, urging fair resolution.

A supporter of Saryu Roy said that this intervention aligns with Roy’s consistent advocacy for public rights, having earlier resolved similar disputes in Jamshedpur.
