Mobile Theft Gang Busted in Seraikela, 62 Phones Recovered

Himanshu Modi Arrested with Stolen Electronics Worth Rs 10 Lakh

SERAIKELA – District police achieved a major breakthrough by busting a mobile theft gang and recovering stolen electronics worth approximately Rs 10 lakh from the prime accused.

Officers arrested Himanshu Modi alias Rachit from Modi Mohalla area. He belongs to Bada Amda village under Amda OP jurisdiction. However, his criminal activities extended across multiple states.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sameer Savaya received secret intelligence on July 13. The information suggested a youth was dealing in stolen mobiles. Moreover, the suspect operated from Bada Amda village specifically.

Police immediately formed a specialized raid team following the tip-off. The operation was conducted under SDPO’s direct supervision. Furthermore, officers coordinated a systematic approach for the arrest.

The raid team conducted operations in Modi Tola area. They successfully apprehended the accused during the surprise operation. Besides, significant evidence was recovered from his possession.

Officers seized 62 stolen mobile phones from the location. One tablet was also recovered during the search. In addition, two laptops were confiscated as evidence.

Investigation revealed the accused’s operational methods across states. He primarily targeted trains for mobile theft activities. However, he also operated in various other locations.

“The accused would steal mobiles and then sell them,” confirmed SDPO Savaya. His network involved interstate criminal activities systematically. Moreover, he had established selling channels for stolen goods.

Police completed all legal procedures against the accused promptly. He was subsequently sent to judicial custody. Furthermore, investigations continue to uncover additional criminal connections.

The raid team included Inspector Nitin Kumar Singh effectively. Kharsawan Station Officer Gaurav Kumar participated in operations. Meanwhile, Amda OP Officer Raman Kumar Vishwakarma joined the mission.

Sub-Inspector Yogesh Rajak contributed to the successful operation. Reserve guards from Amda OP also assisted significantly. However, coordinated teamwork ensured the operation’s complete success.

This arrest marks a significant victory against mobile theft. The recovered electronics will be returned to owners. Moreover, police are investigating connections to other theft cases.
