JMM Leader Warns BJP Against Reducing Reserved Seats Post Census

Supriyo Bhattacharya Claims Opposition Unable to Accept Coalition Victory

Key Points:

* New government under Hemant Soren to take charge November 28

* BJP wins only one seat out of 18 in Santhal region

* JMM expresses concerns over 2025 census impact on tribal seats

RANCHI – JMM central general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya warns against potential reduction of reserved seats after upcoming delimitation.

The party promises swift action after government formation. Meanwhile, coalition prepares for power transition.

Moreover, Bhattacharya criticized BJP’s post-election rhetoric. However, he highlighted their poor performance in Santhal.

The opposition secured minimal tribal region representation. Furthermore, their communal strategy backfired significantly.

"BJP’s Manuwadi ideology threatens tribal interests," noted a political analyst. Besides, delimitation concerns worry regional parties.

The 2025 census will trigger constituency reorganization. Meanwhile, tribal leaders express reservation concerns.

Parliament’s winter session has commenced. Subsequently, Jharkhand’s reserved seats might face discussion.

On the other hand, JMM pledges strong resistance. In addition, coalition partners support protecting tribal constituencies.

The last delimitation occurred in 2008. Moreover, significant demographic changes have occurred since then.

India’s census will begin next year. Furthermore, it will influence future electoral boundaries.

Tribal areas currently have special constitutional protections. Nevertheless, delimitation could alter existing arrangements.
