BJP Leader Devendra Singh Criticizes Jamshedpur MGM Hospital Conditions

Devendra Singh highlights lack of facilities and staff during surprise visit

Former district president calls for immediate improvements in healthcare services.

JAMSHEDPUR – Devendra Singh, former BJP district president and Jamshedpur West assembly candidate, conducted a surprise inspection of MGM Hospital on Thursday, raising concerns about the deteriorating healthcare facilities.

Singh met with patients and hospital superintendent Dr. Ravindra Kumar to discuss various issues plaguing the institution. "The facilities provided by Raghubar Das’s government five years ago have been reduced," Singh remarked.

He highlighted a critical incident involving Sriram Sharma, a Mango resident who suffered a heart attack. "Sharma lay on a stretcher for three hours without any doctor attending to him," Singh stated.

The BJP leader observed patients lying on the floor in corridors due to lack of beds. He noted that most doctors in the emergency ward were trainees from MGM Medical College.

"The superintendent informed us that they lack cardiology and nephrology departments, severely limiting treatment options," Singh explained.

Singh criticized the hospital’s reliance on private sector services for basic tests like blood work, ECGs, and X-rays. "Where will the poor go for treatment if they can’t afford these private services?" he questioned.

The former district president called on Health Minister Banna Gupta to personally inspect the hospital conditions. He accused the current government of failing to operationalize a new building constructed during the previous BJP administration.

"When the BJP returns to power in Jharkhand, we will improve the condition of government hospitals and prevent them from becoming hubs of corruption and profiteering," Singh promised.

This visit by Singh highlights ongoing concerns about the quality of healthcare services in Jamshedpur’s public hospitals.
