Rakesh Mishra, Jamshedpur native and ex-Bihar DG, connects with business community, sparking dialogue on socio-economic issues.

JAMSHEDPUR – Former Bihar Director General and ex-Jamshedpur SP Rakesh Mishra returns to his roots, participating in various social events and meetings with local leaders.

Rakesh Mishra, a distinguished police officer who grew up in Jamshedpur, made a homecoming visit to the steel city. During his stay, Mishra actively participated in several social gatherings, rekindling old connections and forming new ones.

A delegation from the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) met with Mishra, who previously served as Jamshedpur’s Superintendent of Police and Bihar’s Director General of Home Guards. The meeting saw the presence of CAIT’s National Secretary Suresh Sonthalia and other prominent figures.

"Mr. Mishra’s insights on regional development are invaluable," remarked Sonthalia after their discussion.

The gathering included Prabhat Sharma, a former Tata Steel official and CAIT’s chief patron, along with business leaders Bharat Vasani and Dilip Goyal.

Conversations during the meeting centered on the social, political, and economic landscape of Bihar and Jharkhand, with Mishra offering perspectives from his extensive career in law enforcement and public service.

Throughout his career, Mishra has held several high-ranking positions, including Inspector General of CRPF and Director General of Home Guards and Fire Services in Bihar.

Post-retirement in 2020, Mishra joined Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Yatra in Bihar, continuing his commitment to public service in a new capacity.

"Returning to Jamshedpur always feels like coming home," Mishra shared. "It’s heartening to see the city’s progress and contribute to discussions about its future."
