CHAIBASA – An excise department team conducting a raid on an illicit liquor manufacturing unit in Argundi village under Chaibasa Mufassil police station area was attacked with a sword, leaving one officer seriously injured.
According to available information, the team had entered a house as part of an anti-hooch operation. A person linked to the illegal liquor trade suddenly attacked the team with a sword.
ASI Mantu Agarwal bore the brunt of the assault. He sustained serious injuries from sword blows to his neck and back.
After targeting the ASI, the attacker also attempted to strike other team members. However, the remaining personnel managed to escape and save themselves.
